Six months of QUBIC: consortium meets in Dublin

The QUBIC consortium met in person in September at NovaUCD in Dublin, hosted by project coordinator Equal1. The meeting marked six months since the project began, and representatives from all eight partner organisations attended.

The meeting was a chance to review technical progress across the project interest areas and to see how the work is fitting together. Partners also discussed the deliverables submitted so far and the milestones coming up over the next reporting period. The first six months have focused on putting the foundations in place: setting up the technical work, establishing how partners collaborate, and identifying the problems in each sector where quantum approaches could be most useful.

Partners also agreed priorities for the months ahead, as the project moves from set-up into the next phase of development.

Much of the consortium's work happens across different organisations and locations, so time in the same room is highly productive. It gave partners the opportunity to discuss results in detail, work through open questions, and plan the next steps together. Thanks to Equal1 for hosting.

If your organisation is exploring how quantum computing could apply to energy, materials or pharmaceuticals, we would like to hear from you. Contact us through qubic.ie, or follow QUBIC on LinkedIn for project updates.
